The Boat House Oyster Bar
(850) 837-3645
Barefoot folks, bras hanging from the ceiling, picnic tables and pelicans. If you want everything neat and clean, stay away. If you don’t mind great boiled peanuts, fresh as they come fish sandwiches and awesome burgers in a fun place hanging over the water – this is your spot. This is where the locals who work on the boats and the out-of-towners in the know come for cold beer and a grouper sandwich on the water.

Mexican
La Paz
(850) 837-2247
One of best restaurants in Destin that you can always get in without a wait. When everything else has a 2 hour wait and the kids are yelling they are hungry, head to La Paz. Very casual, great traditional Mexican food. Lots of chips, salsa, margaritas and cold beer. Heading on 98 towards the Harbor, turn left (south) across from Target on Gulf Shores Drive. It is on the left a hundred yards down.
