Just west of Blue Mountain Beach, is 30A’s Western-most community, Dune Allen, a place where lake and beach unite. Coastal dune lakes are a geographical rarity – an ecosystem found in only a handful of places around the world, including South Walton. Dune Allen alone is home to three of the area’s seventeen coastal dune lakes: Lake Allen, Stallworth Lake, and Oyster Lake. These waterways have the highest occurrences of rare wildlife species in the state, some of which are found nowhere else in the world. These enchanting lakes bring a heightened sense of pristine beauty and ecological balance to Dune Allen, where nature lovers and photographers can enjoy the unique wildlife and spectacular sunsets.
In addition to all this, the 1,600 Topsail Hill State Preserve with its wonderful trails and highest dunes on the coast also calls Dune Allen Home. Add in some of 30A’s most notable restaurants and public beach accesses, and you have the recipe for a truly incredible and one-of-a-kind vacation.
